A user who had taken a photograph of their seed phrase on a dedicated phone found in May 2016 that the phone had been remotely wiped after it was reported stolen, before they could back up the photo. The device was later found at home, but the remote wipe had already executed. The seed phrase had not been written down anywhere else.
