CustodyStress models how your Bitcoin custody system behaves under stress scenarios including death, incapacity, device loss, coercion, and forced relocation. It produces structured reference documents that can be interpreted by spouses, executors, or professionals without the original author.

Does CustodyStress connect to my wallet or require my private keys?

No. CustodyStress uses a structured, scenario-based questionnaire. No accounts are connected, no private keys are shared, and no sensitive data is collected. All inputs are processed locally in your browser. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts and offers optional translation via Google Translate, both subject to Google's privacy policy.

What does CustodyStress produce?

A completed assessment produces a survivability profile, inheritor opening document, custody system overview, coordination notes, estate-custody alignment summary, coordination worksheet, role participation by scenario, and input snapshot — each with integrity verification.

Who is CustodyStress for?

For anyone who holds Bitcoin — in an app, exchange or brokerage account, hardware wallet, multisig setup, or managed by a service — and wants to know what happens to it if something happens to them. Also used by estate planners, lawyers, and fiduciary advisors working with clients who hold Bitcoin.

CustodyStress is designed to model Bitcoin custody survivability while minimizing data exposure. This Privacy Policy explains what information is and is not collected and how data is handled in connection with the assessment.

Overview

CustodyStress operates as a local, client-side diagnostic instrument.

The assessment is intentionally designed to avoid collecting sensitive or identifying information. CustodyStress does not require account creation to run the assessment and does not retain assessment data on its servers.

This was an architectural choice, not an afterthought. CustodyStress was deliberately built so that running an assessment does not require disclosing what you hold, where you hold it, or who you are. Most custody tools are not designed this way — they collect account details, wallet addresses, or identity information as a condition of use. Information We Do Not Collect

CustodyStress does not collect, request, or store:

Private keys or seed phrases
Wallet addresses
Passwords, PINs, or recovery codes
Specific physical locations
Names of wallets, services, or providers
Personally identifying information
Assessment responses on CustodyStress servers or systems

The assessment is not designed to receive sensitive information.

Local Processing

Assessment responses are processed locally in your browser.

Data is not intentionally transmitted to CustodyStress servers
Data is not retained after your session unless you explicitly export records
Results are not used by CustodyStress for analytics, profiling, or training

If local storage is used (for example, to allow review of inputs during an active session), it remains on your device and is not accessible to CustodyStress.

Cookies and Analytics

CustodyStress does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

CustodyStress records an anonymous count when a user reaches the assessment boundary after completing Section 3. This counter increments by one per event. No IP address, session identifier, referrer, browser data, or any other identifying information is collected or retained in connection with this count. The request is discarded after the counter is incremented.

No other behavioral or usage data is collected.

Third-Party Services

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive standard connection metadata (IP address, referrer) under Google's privacy policy. No assessment data is included in these requests.

If the optional translation feature is used, page content is processed by Google Translate under Google's privacy policy. Translation is user-initiated and not required for assessment operation.

Payments

Paid access is processed by a third-party payment provider.

CustodyStress does not receive, store, or process payment card data. Third-party payment providers' privacy policies govern payment processing.

Integrity Digest

The Integrity Digest is computed locally at issuance and binds declared inputs and Methodology Version to the generated artifacts. The digest is recorded in the Survivability Profile and Input Snapshot. Other artifacts reference the Survivability Profile for verification.

The Integrity Digest does not transmit declared inputs to CustodyStress and does not allow reconstruction of inputs by CustodyStress.

Artifact Retention and Responsibility

CustodyStress produces reference artifacts intended for download, printing, or offline storage.

You are responsible for:

Retaining copies of generated artifacts
Securing exported PDFs or files
Managing access to stored custody records

CustodyStress does not retain copies of generated artifacts and cannot recover them if they are lost or deleted.

Data Sharing

CustodyStress does not sell, rent, or share user data.

Because assessment data is processed locally, CustodyStress does not possess assessment data to disclose or distribute.

Security Considerations

CustodyStress is designed to minimize data exposure, but no software environment is entirely risk-free.

You are responsible for:

Using trusted devices and browsers
Avoiding entry of sensitive custody information
Managing any exported results securely

Children's Privacy

CustodyStress is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18.

Changes to This Policy

Updates to this Privacy Policy apply prospectively and do not alter the data handling characteristics of previously issued Custody Records.

Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
