Nucleus had claimed to implement multi-signature escrow but post-closure analysis by blockchain researchers found no evidence the advertised multisig had ever been deployed. All escrowed funds had been held in centrally controlled wallets. Vendors who had opted for 'multisig' escrow believing it provided additional protection found no functional difference from standard escrow.
