The Coincheck hack triggered an immediate FSA crackdown. Japan's Financial Services Agency issued emergency on-site inspections of all licensed and operating cryptocurrency exchanges in Japan. Exchanges that could not demonstrate adequate cold wallet practices received improvement orders that suspended portions of their services. Customers at multiple exchanges experienced simultaneous access disruptions.
