A user who set their wallet passphrase using the VIN number from their vehicle found in November 2016 that the vehicle had been written off in an accident, and the VIN plate had been destroyed. Their insurance records only preserved partial VIN data. Professional recovery attempts using the partial VIN could not narrow the search space sufficiently.
