A Bitcoin trader was involved in a serious accident in June 2015 and was unconscious for several weeks. Their exchange account contained significant holdings. Family members who attempted to access the account on their behalf were refused by the exchange, which required direct authentication by the account holder. A court-ordered guardianship took four months to establish.
