An early Bitcoin miner died unexpectedly in January 2015. Family members found a USB drive labelled 'Bitcoin' but it was password protected with a Windows BitLocker key that had not been recorded in the estate. Professional tools could not brute-force the key. The USB contents remained inaccessible.
