BlockedCase description
Turkey banned cryptocurrency payments in April 2021. Two major Turkish exchanges — Thodex and Vebitcoin — collapsed within days of the announcement, with Thodex's CEO fleeing the country with an estimated $2 billion in customer assets. Turkish Bitcoin users who had not moved assets to self-custody lost access permanently. Those on foreign platforms faced enhanced geofencing.
