During the prolonged Supreme Court challenge to the RBI ban in early 2019, Indian Bitcoin users continued to face an inaccessible banking system. Exchange customers who needed fiat liquidity were forced to use premium P2P rates that effectively imposed a 10–15% tax on Bitcoin conversions. Access to exchange features beyond basic trading was progressively limited.
