Forced relocation — exchange custody (2016)
SurvivesCase description
Following the Brexit referendum announcement in February 2016, several EU-based Bitcoin exchanges restricted UK account services in anticipation of regulatory uncertainty. UK customers of EU-licensed exchanges received notices to withdraw funds within 60 days as the exchanges pre-emptively applied EU financial services passporting rules.
