64% of determinate inheritance cases resulted in permanently blocked access. 10% had no known documentation; 67% had only partial documentation. Exchange custody accounts for 13 of 52 documented inheritance cases — exchange accounts without documented credentials or recovery emails are among the most common inheritance failure patterns.
