A December 2020 case describes a cryptocurrency researcher whose laptop bag was snatched from a café. The laptop contained an active Electrum wallet session. The thief transferred the on-screen balance before the victim could remotely lock the machine. The victim's larger cold wallet holdings were on a hardware device at home.
