Device lost — software wallet 2018
ConstrainedCase description
A Bitcoin miner who had accumulated coins since 2011 had their home flooded during severe weather in September 2018. Two computers containing wallet backups were submerged. One backup drive was recovered and successfully read by a professional lab. The second drive's platters were too corroded. The recoverable wallet held a partial portion of the total holdings.
