A user who had kept their primary wallet on a dedicated air-gapped laptop found in November 2017 that the laptop's hard drive had failed silently. When they attempted to access the wallet the drive was not detected. No backup had been made since the wallet was created in 2014. Professional recovery found the drive heads had crashed into the platters.
