Physical coercion — hardware wallet (2023)
BlockedCase description
According to Bloomberg's 2023 reporting on crypto home invasions, a gang operating across the southeastern United States conducted multiple home invasions in 2023 targeting known Bitcoin holders. In early 2023, one crew member (Remy) broke into what he believed was a target's home but found an empty Airbnb after address data from a data broker was outdated. The crew discussed hits across Connecticut, Georgia, Nevada, Tennessee, and Canada, with targets selected based on publicly available wealth signals and data-broker records.
